About this book

Archie is a real border collie who lives in the Colorado Rockies, and every picture in this book started as a photo of one of his adventures. He climbs the biggest rock on the trail, wades in creeks, rides a gondola and the ski lift, digs through deep snow and takes road trips in an open Jeep.

Each page has a short fun fact to read together. Did you know border collies can run up to 30 miles per hour? The outlines are big and bold so small hands can stay inside the lines, and every picture is printed on one side of the sheet, so markers won't bleed through to the next drawing.

This one is for kids who like dogs, and for the grown-ups who sit next to them. The pictures are simple enough for a four-year-old with a fat crayon, and there's still room for an eight-year-old who wants to add every pine needle. Read the fun fact out loud first, then color.

Archie loves to climb the biggest rock on the trail and keep an eye on everything below.

Archie has a short coat, so on the coldest days he wears his orange jacket in the snow.
